The shop is up!

Thank you for waiting so patiently for manos shop!

It’s now online with most of the pieces from Mr Black & Mme Ochre as well as a few assorted items from manos shop. Happy shopping or viewing!

More pictures on my flickr and on Camilla’s flickr.

Sharing

It’s been a really lovely last few days and I’m pleasantly tired now but hanging in there as they’re showing “Lost in Translation” on TV.

Camilla and I had planned to put the exhibition together on Wednesday and just have small alterations to do on Thursday. So on Wednesday at 10 am the sun-curtain-repair-guys call me and say they’re coming over in 30 minutes to fix the sun curtains. It’ll take two days they say and there went our plan ;) I’d been waiting to get the curtains repaired since December so we just had to share the green house and make the best of it. They finished the repair just after the private view and now I have great curtains and a great exhibition going at manos!

I know you’ve been waiting for information about where to buy our pieces without flying over to manos, and let me tell you - so have I! There’s been some hick-ups with manos web, but I think I’ve found a temporary solution now and an online shop will be up during the coming week. I’ll keep you posted.

Välkomna på vernissage!

Välkomna på vernissage på manos torsdag 24 april kl 16-19. Vi bjuder på vin och choklad! Hitta hit.

Packaging and parsley

Packaging with a stick, but not any old stick - it’s from the apple trees on the golf course. Överjärva Gård used to have apple orchards there and when the golf course was built a few trees of different species were saved. I only pick up the branches that has fallen off and use them for my packaging. It’s something to do with tying yesterday - today - tomorrow…

More packaging, these tea bags comes from Jurgen Lehl.

Domestic craft a new blog to me.

I like this outfit, found in nuan+ style book

The parsley I planted a couple of weeks ago is growing slowly but steadily. Yesterday was the warmest loveliest day and the sun set late, making a shadow on my kitchen wall (accompanying Camilla’s calendar).

On Wednesday, Camilla is coming and we’ll be putting the exhibition of Mr Black & Mme Ochre together - I’ll be back then!

Chocolate PV

I usually pass Slussen tube station several times a week and there I see Hillevi Hultman’s embroidered drawings on the walls. I didn’t know who they were by until I stumbled over a picture on the brinkworth snow show (a really nice site). The image above is called “Conscience” but I’d like to translate it as “Conscious” as that is more how I interpret it. Here’s another two images by Hillevi Hultman and more swedish text.

Today I haven’t been passing Slussen however as I’ve been working from home. I’ve only ventured out to go to the recycling station with all last weeks packaging after which I went into Spårvägsmuseet (public transport museum), such an inspiring place! At Spårvägsmuseet the miniature tube train runs every 5 minutes and in the shop they have the most adorable miniatures of trams and buses. Here’s another happy visitor to Spårvägsmuseet.

Camilla and I have decided on chocolate and red wine (or perhaps rosé?) for next weeks private view and so I’ve been trying out alternatives from Chokladfabriken. Camilla is coming up for the PV and there will be chocolates so if you would like an invite to the private view, send me an email at karin@karineriksson.se and it shall be organized.

I know some of you are eager to know where our collaborative pieces will be sold and it’ll be in manos webshop, my aim is to have it up and running a week after the opening of the show. We’ll keep you updated - promise! We’re also making a series of online only tiles, so you’ll not miss out.

Potter month

The past week has been so filled with experiences it feels more like a month. A very good month! Above is a view from Saturday lunchtime in the mountains.

Camilla has come and gone, here she is working on our collaborative pieces - the more we work on them the more ideas we get - we’re already planning for a continuation…

Everything is growing in my greenhouse, the beans and the grape vine is demanding more and more space. The newspaper plant pot is made with a “potter” (krukmakare) from Runåbergs fröer.

I received this masterpiece from Urubbu in the post the other week, I’m completely charmed!

I’m doing an etsy shop update on Friday, it’ll be odds and pebbles.
Ciao.

Frog expedition

Mmm, this afternoon I’m getting on the bus to go skiing for a few days. I look forward even to just sitting on the bus, not being able to do very much. manos will be open as usual and on Saturday Eva’s mom will be selling her home baked crisp bread!

Above is the frosted window in front of my throwing wheel, where a little butterfly has been residing for the past few days.

There are two glass panels in the floor at manos, covering up large holes in the ground where the quite beautiful looking weeds has taken over. These holes attract a lot of attention, from grown ups and younger people alike. Last weekend two girls were convinced they could see frogs down there amongst the greenery, they even got their dads on their hands and knees looking for the frogs ;)

Once upon a time (1860) when the green house was built there were wood burning stoves in these holes, spreading their warmth in flues under the floor to keep the right climate for the plants.

I’ve got a whole lot of glazing waiting for me at the workshop and after that the dentist before I can jump on that bus. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
