..and Happy New Year!

A belated Christmas greeting to you with one of the nicest cards I’ve received this year! It’s in wood and from Japan.

I hope you’ve all had the Christmas you wanted. I’ve made my first ever Christmas ham and Jansson’s temptation and have had a relaxing and joyful time with my family.

Right now I’m working with next years most exiting project for me; I’m opening up a small shop in my green-house and it will offer not only my ceramics but other beautiful handmade and design objects as well. We’ve named it manos (spanish for ‘hands’) and the doors will be opening online and off-line in February/March! See the postcard bigger here.

And now, wishing you a happy 2008!

Lucia night

I’ve just come home from Lucia night in Storkyrkan here in Stockholm, so atmospheric and beautiful. Pictures here. Afterwards we walked through Gamla stan, the ground had an almost non-existent powder layer of snow. I’m starting to feel we’re only a week and some away from Christmas.

Here’s some more reading about our Lucia traditions.

Report from the Christmas sale

My cheeks are warm from being in the cold all day and suddenly sitting by the kitchen table blogging and enjoying a glass of red wine. What a delightful weekend I’ve had! I love the Christmas sale when lots of people come to visit and I can dedicate my time to talking to them. It was extra satisfying this year to open up my new studio with the light flooding in and to show my work against this beautiful backdrop. I took some pictures before it all started on Saturday morning and then I didn’t have a moment until it was all over this afternoon, here they are. To see what else was on sale - don’t miss Överjärva Gårds extensive report! Thank you all for visiting!

Something to bury my toes in

These signs will be decorated with images of ceramics to lead Christmas market visitors to my new lodgings next weekend. I’m longing to get the green house ready for visitors, but I still have to pack and send off the last big orders before I can start arranging and decorating.

bientotdemain posted about Hella Jongerius’ Blizzard bulbs which led me to her office pets - I find them pale and charming!

We’re having some trouble with the heating in our flat, the radiators aren’t very hot at all and I’m dreaming of rugs. Here’s a quiet one from f-style that I found via Thimbloom. I want to bury my toes in it.

I’ve been asked to list my top 10 favourite cups, but I like so many more!! Here is one of them, from Wood Jewel.

The library in Båstad are showing a daily photograph taken by me all the way up to Christmas!
