Going skiing

It’s grey and wet here, but my bag (and my mind) is not. It’s a spruced up army bag by Katarina Kaye, I bought it some time ago but only recently started using it and I love it.

More lovely handmade bags from Angela Liu, also on etsy.

Niina Mahlmberg makes beautiful glass jewellery and she is a member of finnish gallery Koorutaide, where they’ve got lots more amazing jewellery to browse.

I’m going skiing tomorrow, I must practice for a coming week in Austria. See you Thursday!

Snowy friday

Outside it’s snowing big fluffy flakes but in my workshop flowers of magnolia are blossoming on a bare branch. Is there anything more beautiful? Here’s another view.
There’s an article about me in Svenska Dagbladet Magasinet tomorrow (but you can already see it online) and I thought I’d make the workshop look really nice in case I get some extra visitors ;) Here’s how blossoming it’s become.

A comment on my previous post led me to the beautiful handbags from Pibiones. Read more about the production methods and inspirations in Antonellos blog.

It seems February 2007 is my press month - here’s an article in German Elle Bistro (it took me a while to track a magazine down, but I finally found it together with German Elle Decoration). Here’s a picture of the front page.

My egg cup is for sale in swedish VI magazine (see the page here), you can order them from here

Too cold

The cold winter weather continues in all its glory and keeps me from working full force. The energy is needed to keep my nose warm, my hands not freezing etc… At least my throat keeps warm - Tante Sophie sent me a gift - the soft, warm loveliness I’m wearing around my neck on the photo above. Thank you!! (On her website it’s called a “mocha scarf in fudgesicle”.)

I like the products and the project behind the pure handmade collection. A collaboration between the Red Cross Eindhoven and Meesters & Van der Park.

Free world wide shipping on the lovely things from shunklies etsy shop, like this embroidered felt purse.

Poetry of Colours

I am being spoilt. The other day I was treated to this beautiful looking and amazingly tasting dessert. The colours are lovely, they could be the inspiration to a new set of glazes.

The Craft2eu shop is now available in english. These beautifully coloured rings comes from their jewellery collection, by Ozzi Oswald.

Pinks and reds in the shop window at Iris Hantverk. See the whole window and more close ups here.

It’s the Stockholm Fashion week (link to the pdf guide) and Lolita’s going to the shows. Aia Jüdes has curated The Fair Made exhibition (February 15–18) for the Style At Sthlm fair at Stockholm International Fairs, this will later move on to Svensk Form. Read more about swedish sustainable style.

Happy weekend! I’m popping down to Göteborg to visit Camilla, perhaps I will get a glimpse of Morran in yoga position ;)

Love signs

Jon Tran illustrations, via kunstbetrieb.

Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger’s ‘Falling Garden’ has been waltzing around the web, I also like their ‘Brainforest’ installation. Beton & Garten, where I first heard about Gerda and Jörg, recently unearthed work in the same vibe by Japanese artist Teika Itho.

Mmm - Ebay and etsy tips from Molly Symmonds at the d*s guest blog.

I’ve made a ‘love tile’ for Platina’s Valentine exhibition. See another ‘love tile’ here. The exhibition continues until 31st March.

The Dark Rainbow Shop

The Dark Rainbow Shop is a new, conceptual museum shop at Tensta Konsthall.

Design Finland
has visited Ivana Helsinki’s new shop.

Alison from Reverie has just recently taken the plunge to do jewelry design full
time and her newly updated site has got some gems as well as lovely styling.

Three Layer Cake interview with Thorsten van Elten.

Nice picture and text of and about HobbyPrincess.

Johan Wijk’s “Non Square Seating Device” was a popular feature at the furniture fair. I like his clear and simple website.

From the fair

It’s soo cold here today!! I wish I had a stove that could keep me warm. Yesterday at the Stockholm Furniture Fair I kept warm, running up and down the isles… Here are some of the things I saw.

Above is a detail of Annica Svensson’s tiled stove that she shows in Konsthantverkscentrum’s stand. If you bend your neck, you can see the whole stove here and a close up of the door here.

See another view of Konsthantverkscentrum’s stand here.

Processor were showing in Greenhouse - the area for independent designers and design schools. Their new products were just as yummy as I thought they would be. All the patterns are printed on ecological cotton: “Rut brown” (above) and Blue, Rex orange and Green, “Sy, sy, sy”. Here’s a picture of their stand and I liked how they had written their name.

Above is a computer table by Catarina Boström and a flower curtain by Anna Eklund, both third year students at Sydväst University of Applied Sciences.

See all my photos from the fair here.

Enjoy your weekend!

Going to the fair

I’m off to the Stockholm Furniture Fair this afternoon. I can’t wait to see what Processor has done, their new products look absolutely delicious! Above are the pillowcases Processor did for Amongst Tigers and Rhubarbs - the exhibition I was involved in organizing together with my colleagues in FLiT.

Fredrika Linder was another exhibitor I met through Amongst Tigers and Rhubarbs and I’m really looking forward to see her new lamps.

Fröjd lamp by Linda Rothstein who is exhibiting in KHVC’s stand.

Shadow Monsters by Philip Worthington , via Dezeen.

Mr Flower Power

I’m on the look-out for some dancing shoes and saw these beauties from Eley Kishimoto over at Shiny Squirrel.

2007 is the Linnaeus Tercentenary as it’s 300 years since Linnaeus was born. Lead words for the tercentenary are Creativity - Curiosity - Science. That’s a good choice.

Yesterday, I went to a Linnaeus celebration at Svenskt Tenn - the launch of a chest of drawers decorated in reproductions of 45 botanical plates from Plantae Selectae and a book about that chest of drawers.

We were treated to nibbles on a table beautifully decorated with wild flowers. The nibbles, made and created by Kring Mat, were also decorated with flowers.

La Boutique slow

I like things that keep me warm. Morkers from knithappens etsy shop.
